Directions

The most common cause of nasal congestion is the temporary swelling of nasal passages due to colds or allergic reactions to pollen, dust, mould, animals or even certain foods.

The key factor is NOT to dry the mucus, but to make it thinner, less sticky and easier to move.

This is done by using FESS, a non-medicated nasal spray in a saline solution which has a level of acidity adjusted to a higher Ph between 7.8 and 8.1. It contains none of the decongestants or drying agents of many nasal sprays or drops.

FESS irrigates the nasal passages to help break down thick mucus. This helps restart mucociliary flow, allowing the cilia hairs to grip and move the excess mucus out the nasal and sinus cavities.

If the nose is very congested, use a pharmacy recommended decongestant spray. For best results, use FESS 5 minutes before application to help loosen any excess mucus and allow better penetration of the medication.

Medicated decongestant sprays should only be used for a period of up to 5 days to avoid the possibility of their use becoming habitual.

During those times, if the mucus is discoloured with no sign of clearing , and there is a fever accompanied by sinus pain, you should see your doctor.
